Hey, I went to UT Martin (Mike
Thompson '73' was my roommate) for a year
(73-74), transferred to Memphis state (74-75).
Dropped out (withdrew) and worked at St Jude
hospital (75-76). Joined the Navy, (yes, it was
an adventure). Out of the Navy back in to
school, associate in engineering '82 'State
Tech, then back to Memphis State BS in
engineering '85', met a cool girl named Paula at
Methodist hospital and we married in '84' moved
to North Carolina in '85' (Paula's from NC). We
have two spuds--Ben is 16, 6'5" and a good
athlete/academics, Rachel is 20, very
independent (not financially!!) and a junior at
East Carolina Univ. and doing well. Paula is a
nurse (Univ. Tenn '80') and is the go-to person
in the neighborhood for other moms' medical
questions about their kids. I work for the State
of NC in a group that is an ISP for other state
and county agencies. I keep up with Mike
Hall'73' (he is in south Carolina), Steve Smith
'73' (we played Poker/tennis for years). I
stayed in the navy reserves long enough to
retire.The top photo is
me with my wife Paula. The bottom photo is me
with my kids Rachel and Ben.

Hi all…I am
currently living in Huntsville, Alabama where I
have been for 20 years. My wife of 31 years,
Annette (formerly Taylor) is also an REHS
graduate but from the class of ’74. We have two
kids, a daughter who is 28 and married and is
finishing her MS in Technical Writing at U of
Memphis this year and a son who is 21 and also
is married and is working on his undergrad
degree in Business Admin at Virginia College
here in Huntsville. I have been working as an
electrical engineer since graduating from
Memphis State in 1977 and these days I work
primarily on systems for the Department of
Defense that are used in Iraq and Afghanistan to
protect the soldiers over there.

Hi
Everyone--it has been so much fun reading
your bios! Mike and I have been
married for 30 years, and have lived in
Plano TX (a North Dallas suburb) for 20
years. He is with Southwest Airlines, and I
will be starting my 12th year teaching
preschool this Fall. We are blessed
with two great kids--Brian, 24, a grad of
the University of North Texas, and Molly,
18, who will be entering her sophomore year
at the University of Texas-Austin this
Fall. She is spending the summer in NYC as
an intern with a record company. Brian will
be moving to California in August
in association with his church.
Besides teaching, I have a small pastry
baking/decorating business and am becoming
an "earth mother," learning about organic
foods and alternative health issues (much to
my family's dismay!) We cannot make it to
the reunion, but will miss being there so
much. Have a great time everyone--and a
special "hello" to our teachers. It is
great that so many will be attending. Hope
to hear from ya'll!

Hello all. I am very excited
about the upcoming planned joint reunion. After
graduating in '73, I continued my employment at The
Commercial Appeal, and I recently received my 35 year
service award. I married Earth's most beautiful
creature in 1975 and we shared 26 wonderful years
together before she passed away after a long bout with
breast cancer. I have 2 adult sons, aged 25 and 23
respectively, both still single. At this rate I'm
quite sure I'll be one of the world's oldest men to
become a grandfather. :))
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Hello good
friends! I still live in the Memphis area, but in
the county near Brunswick. I married Bubba Carlton
who some may remember from REHS, and we have been
married for almost 29 years. We have 2 children,
Chris, almost 25, who graduated from Mississippi
State University in Mechanical Engineering and who
is an officer with the United States Air Force
currently in Great Falls, Montana, working with the
Nuclear Missile program. Our daughter Catherine is
a beautiful 19 year old and attends the University
of Tennessee at Martin majoring in Nursing with
plans to be a Nurse Practitioner. I graduated from
Memphis State in Business Administration and have
worked with the school systems for several years now
with Special Education Preschool, and Bubba has
worked with the Memphis and Shelby County Health
Department for about 20 years. I have worked on
several reunion committees and enjoyed every minute!
We hope to see everyone again soon! |

After high school I married my sweet heart Marilyn
Nabors and have been married almost 31 wonderful
years. We had two children, Matthew and Erin.
I have been associated with the auto parts business
one way or another with various companies over the
past 30 some odd years and continue my vocation in
sales today. We moved to East Tennessee
(Sevierville, TN) in 1999, and bought a home in the
Smoky Mountains. We were living the dream until
April of 2000 when my 22 year old son was killed in a
freak auto accident. We were devastated to say
the least. Its taken four years and gallons of
tears but last year I started piecing my life back
together. How ever pieces are, and will continue
to be missing. My daughter Erin graduated
collage (ETSU) with a degree in counseling and
currently works with youth in a program in Knoxville
for troubled teens (life can take some funny turns).
Marilyn is an executive with a state wide hospice
provider. Me, I just do what I always have done.
Oh yea, the people in those pictures sure look old!!! |

After graduating from
high school, my family moved to Douglasville,
Georgia. I worked for a year and in September
of 1974 I went to University of Tennessee at
Martin where I stayed for 5 quarters. I never
finished but enjoyed my time at UTM. During
this time my family moved to Jackson Center,
Ohio. By the time I finished my 5 quarters they
had moved to Dayton, Ohio. In 1977 I started
working at Esther Price Candies which is
Dayton’s local candy company. They have
fantastic chocolates and their website is
www.EstherPrice.com. I work in production
and every year we are laid off from Easter to
August. That is definitely a fantastic perk.
In January of 1984 I married Rick Pabst and in
June of 1985 I had my son Mike. My husband is
currently working in the Pepsi Cola Vending
Department. My son is currently at Sinclair
Community College and will be going to Wright
State University in September and majoring in
accounting. I went to Miami Jacobs Junior
College in 1997 for 2 years and received my
diploma in PC and Network Support Technician. I
received a raise in pay at Esther Price so I
have stayed there and do just about everything
except actually make the candy. I enjoy
reading, water aerobics and every summer we go
to my family’s cabin in Cheboygan, Michigan on
Twin Lakes. I went to the 25th year
reunion and had a really great time so I am
really excited about seeing everyone!

After graduating REHS I attended CBU and MSU studying Electrical
Engineering. I married my childhood sweetheart
and soul mate, Amy McNatt (class of 74) in
1977. Amy and I are blessed with two beautiful
children, Natalie, 24 and Nick 16. Natalie is
engaged to professional poker player Hoyt
Corkins (www.hoytcorkins.com) and she lives in Las Vegas and maintains a condo here in Cordova.
Nick is Senior Patrol Leader with his Boy Scout
troop. He has been active in scouting for 10
years. Amy works in Medical Affairs and
Clinical Operations at GTx, Inc. For 20+
years I worked as a union electrician as a
foreman working on many of the new buildings in
Memphis. I gave up electrical construction for
an inside job about 4 years ago and work nights
Wed – Sat at FedEx as an electronics
technician. Basically I help keep all the
conveyor systems and bar code scanners working
in the hub at FedEx. Over the years I’ve
continued to play golf, fish, hunt and have
become quite a cook. I support Amy and her
efforts with poker and travel with her around
the country “sweating” her out in tournaments.
On occasion I play poker, but usually you will
find me at the craps table shooting dice. Amy
and I continue to be in love and love our family
and life we have built together. We are
planning our retirement and throughout our
travels are looking for our “retirement
destination”.

After graduation I
attended Memphis Sate where I met my future wife
- Becky (Overton '73). I majored in Business
(Insurance) and graduated in December 1976.
While in college, I began working part-time at
Nationwide Insurance and will celebrate my 32nd
anniversary with Nationwide later this year.
Over the years Nationwide has moved me from TN
to PA to OH and since 1993 we have lived in
Lynchburg, VA where I am a call center Director.
Becky and I have been married for nearly 30
years. We have been blessed with two wonderful
children, Beth (26) and Scott (23). Beth is
married, in the process of relocating to
Columbus, OH (she and her husband also work for
Nationwide) and she gave birth to our first
grandchild, Daniel Martin Jones, in August 2005.
Scott is single and lives in Staunton, VA where
he works in sales for Ferguson Enterprises. They
are both college graduates and gainfully
employed, so life is good!
Hopefully retirement is not too far away so that
we can spend more time with Daniel and any other
grandkids that might come along. For now though,
we enjoy camping, attending NASCAR races,
country music concerts and UVA football games. I
also do some announcing and occasional radio
work for the local high school's basketball and
baseball teams.

I went to Memphis State
for a while and left to go into the construction
business with my father until 1988. I live in
Bartlett now and have been married for almost 25
years - no kids, but I do have dogs. Lots and lots
of dogs. My wife Becky and I trial them in
obedience, agility, rally, and conformation. I'm a 4
time past president of the Shelby County Obedience
Club and I am one of the founding board members of
the St Jude Showcase of Dogs (which just celebrated
it's tenth year). I do home remodeling for a living,
and am used as a set carpenter for movies and
theatre from time to time. I also have some business
interests in Belize, Central America, with one of my
brothers who lives down there, and I help another
brother in his business of game design. Ever since I
was a little kid my favorite avocation has been the
pursuit of antiques. All my friends drive me crazy
hounding me to appraise their great aunt's
whatchamacallitzes, though I do love the challenge.
I hope to make it to the reunion and appraise the
rest of the "antiques" of the class of 73. |

Hi everybody! I enjoy
reading the bios, so I thought I would post mine.
Out of high school, I went to Memphis State, met
someone there, married him (Bo) and had two
wonderful sons, Ben now 29 and Andy
now 25. After moving around quite a bit (my husband
was in the Air Force), we eventually divorced and I
ended up back in Memphis and a few years in Tupelo.
I am a registered nurse with experience in trauma,
pediatric trauma, surgery and now I work for a
Memphis urologist. My oldest son, Ben Reese, is an
artist here in Memphis…a tattoo artist, and a mighty
fine one I must say! My youngest son, Andy Reese,
is a high school teacher, and a percussionist, and a
very handsome bachelor. Ben has been married 3
years now….no grandchildren yet, so I guess I’m up
against you - Dale Huffman, for “the oldest
grandparent award”… if I ever get to be one!! My
children and I are very close and I’m very proud of
both of them. |
